Qashqai carpets are woven by the Ghashghai Nomads who live in the Fars province
of Iran and in surroundings of Shiraz. These carpets are of in red, rust colors
having medallion in center of the carpet with flowers, birds, animals or trees
features. The weaving process has been taken on horizontal looms at homes. The
wool that has been used to make such carpets is gotten from sheep and goats and
dyed it in sharp colors. These Ghasghai carpets are very strong and durable
explaining about the circumstances of life of nomads. The Gabbeh and Kashkooli
carpets are the best example of such kind carpets.
